RV SOFTWARE
RV Resorts have very specific RV reservation software needs that are not accommodated in many reservation systems.
Length and width sensitive capabilities are needed because many RV’s have slide-outs that will vary the width of the RV when extended. Length is needed because RV’s come in many shapes and sizes, from the luxury 40 Ft plus, to the smaller 30 FT and less.
When the RV is parked, a number of other utilities are usually required :
Internet Access – many RVers now expect Internet access at a park or resort they are staying at. If this is not available, they will stay elsewhere in many cases.
Electric hookup – this is essential to power many of the appliances on the RV. Amps vary between RVs which is a headache for older resorts because they will need to upgrade infrastructure to accommodate the more modern power hungry RVs
Water and sewage – This is an obvious essential. Many of the RVs today have modern kitchens, bathrooms and toilets.
All of these added extras need to be tracked appropriately and added to a clients bill accordingly, so the RV software system needs to be able to accommodate these features.
Managers of RV Resorts also need to able to track their clients efficiently for marketing and accounting purposes. Many RV Resorts use a form of cash accounting which needs to be accounted for appropriately within the reservation software.
Added to this are many state and federal laws regulating how much can be charged for certain utilities such as electricity. This means that the RV Software must be highly configurable.
It must also be easy to train and easy learn. Using an advanced reservation software grid has proven to be the ideal visual medium in this regard.
