mong the latest developments Digital Rez' have set to launch by year end is their new "Check Availability" widget. According to Kevin Hall, General Manager of Digital Rez International, the widget was just one of the many ways they envisaged to help their users streamline the booking process. “We know this is a better booking system for customers, as they can see at a glance, the availability by year, rather than hunting around to find a particular day…It’s just less constraint while booking.” Hall said.

The new widget allows customers to see which months are available before hand, so they can make an informed decision when deciding upon a day within that month. Currently several booking systems rely on the client to choose a day, which it then checks to see if it is available. Much to the misfortune of the customer that day may be already be  booked and repeating the process of searching by day- sometimes when the entire month is already booked- can be a very frustrating task for the customer.

The widget which is a piece of self-enclosed code will be embedded into the  users website, where they will then be able to customize the color scheme of the widget to complement their website.

Widgets which are growing more and more popular often take the form of on-screen tools  such as clocks, event countdowns, auction-tickers, stock market tickers, flight arrival information, daily weather.
